Wastewater aeration diffusers

The Airflex range of aeration diffusers has expanded to include a diffuser for the wastewater industry. The membrane diffuser is a combination of EPDM rubber and teflon (PTFE).

Teflon coating the rubber membrane has advantages. The properties of teflon are well known, apart from its low friction characteristics it is also a non-stick material. Diffuser fouling is slowed due to this feature. With slower diffuser fouling it also equates to energy savings over the life of the membrane. Teflon also acts as a barrier to the rubber in the event that the level of chemicals/fats in the wastewater became unusually high.

The membrane has proven to reduce fouling in the aquaculture industry where the water is particularly greasy due to the content of fat in the fish feed. Durability is not compromised with the membrane. With EPDM rubber as the base material, the membrane is strong and combined with a low level of extractable oils makes for long life.

The range of diffusers includes both fine bubble, coarse bubble and disc and tube types.

Replacement membranes to suit other brands of diffuser are also available.
