Aeration Industries has made a number of design modifications to its Aire-O2 Triton process aerator/mixer. The proprietary propeller design has been enhanced and a new flotation 'walkway' system on its large horsepower units has been added.
The propeller design enhancement improves treatment by facilitating the nitrification process. Maintenance and safety is also improved with the new flotation system. The float design, which safely supports up to four men, is available with the 38 and 45 kW units and allows routine maintenance to be carried out while the unit is floating in the pond/lagoon/basin.
The aerator/mixer provides high oxygen transfer and good mixing capabilities up to 10 m deep. The biological nutrient removal (BNR) processes are also easier to regulate and more cost effective by combining mixing and aeration in a single compact unit with independent aeration control.
The product also has dual function process capabilities for aeration and mixing (nitrification) or mixing only (dentrification). Low speed (750 rpm/50 Hz) operation also ensures extended aerator life and quiet operation. Additionally, it is claimed that reduced energy consumption can result in up to 50% electrical savings. Other benefits include flexible mounting options, no aerosols and minimal maintenance.
