Green paper guide

Finsbury Green has released its Green Paper Guide which is designed to help Australian businesses select an environmentally preferable paper. The guide points out it is not simply just about recycled paper - it includes other factors such as what fibres were used to make the paper stock, which forests the raw materials came from and what environmental certifications were followed in the process of making the paper.

Finsbury Green has developed a number of key requirements to indicate different environmental qualities and certifications. Over 250 paper ranges from the major Australian paper merchants have been assessed using a 'best choice' star rating. Each paper is given a rating according to sustainable principles and accepted environmental standards.

The guide is designed to assist businesses understand the terminology associated with 'green' paper. Selecting a legitimately green paper will conserve water, save energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and waste to landfill.
