Ecotech wins Australia-Latin American Business Excellence Award 2009
The Australia-Latin America Business Council (ALABC) worked closely with Austrade and the Australian Export Awards program to select the winning organisations. The award recognises excellence in achievement in doing business with Latin America.
The award was presented at the Gala Dinner in Sydney held on Wednesday 21 October 2009 and showcased the truly remarkable achievements of Australian companies exporting to Latin America.
Ecotech Pty Ltd manufacturers a range of air quality monitoring systems, analysers, calibrators and data acquisition systems at their Melbourne head office, located in Knoxfield, east of the city and has been exporting since 1991.
One of Ecotech’s first export markets was infact Mexico where over 60 data acquisition systems were exported for use in ambient air quality monitoring systems during the early 1990s, this commenced a long relationship with an exclusive distributor who still represents Ecotech today.
Ecotech’s exporting to latin America was slow and opportunistic until 2005 when significant opportunities for their expanded product range were identified. In the past four years Ecotech’s Latin American export market has grown to be worth 20% of total export revenue with major projects implemented throughout the region and in particular countries that include Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Argentina. Strong export growth is anticipated as this region embraces the need for improved air quality.
