Cost efficiency still drives sustainability in the property industry

More than 54% of property industry respondents rate cost and other efficiencies as the most important sustainable feature of a building, compared with just 25% who felt achieving NABERS and Green Star ratings to be the most important sustainable feature, according to a survey by leading engineers, project managers and technical consultants Aurecon.


Low Carbon Australia and Climate Change Authority appointments

The Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, Greg Combet, has announced that the Hon Mike Rann has been appointed to the Board of Low Carbon Australia. The government is also pleased to announce it will appoint Anthea Harris as the Chief Executive Officer of the new Climate Change Authority.


UniQuest promotes Australian innovation at world water conventions

University of Michigan climate change conference report available

Sustainable resin for inflatable packaging

Cardia Bioplastics is pleased to announce that it has signed a deal with US packaging company Sealed Air Corporation. The Melbourne-based company will supply its Biohybrid sustainable resin to produce the film for Sealed Air’s Fill-Air R5 inflatable packaging, enforcing Sealed Air’s environmental commitment to renewable and recycled content, plus reduced, re-used and recycled product.
