Self-cleaning industrial water filter

Wednesday, 22 February, 2006 | Supplied by: http://www.baleen.com/

The Baleen Filter combines micro-screening with a self-cleaning mechanism to deliver reliable and economical filtration results. Solids of greater size than the filter media aperture will be separated and collected with minimal water retention.

The filter is able to separate fine and troublesome water stream constituents such as industrial grit, biodegradable matter, fibrous material, grease and oil, making it suitable for virtually any application where a waste stream exists. The filters are capable of filtration to 25 µm without chemical assistance, or as little as 3 µm if chemical assistance is used.

Standalone or tank-mountable varieties are available, and the filters come in three different sizes. Flow handling capability ranges between 35 and 400 kL per hour for each unit, with the compact modular design enabling the combination of filters to handle larger volumes if required.

Other features include a user-friendly automated control system, long-life filter media, no down time for filter screen cleaning and no backwash stream.
