Effluent management system

The Rovatti effluent management solutions are reversing a problem situation into a positive management technique for farm owners or managers. Within the dairy industry alone, twice as much effluent is being produced as milk and the treatment of this effluent requires a great deal of planning as environmental agencies are regularly monitoring the agricultural industry to ensure that this effluent is retained within property boundaries and is not discharged into drains and watercourses, and does not contaminate groundwater. Farm operators are required to disperse effluent in an appropriate manner and with the Rovatti management system effluent can be treated and dispersed in a managed manner onto pasture land to act as a natural fertiliser.

The solution requires a system of catchment areas that retain effluent and this, combined with a supply of water, allows the Rovatti system to directly transfer this effluent without filtration to pasture areas. The system uses a macerator coupled with a high-pressure open impeller and wear plate pump unit to transfer effluent to spray units. The units can then distribute this treated effluent directly to irrigators for dispersal around farms.

The Rovatti management units are available connected to diesel power packs or frame-mounted units that can be three point linked to tractors or other power plants. The units are specifically designed to accept additional wear beyond the normal pump unit - having a permanent wear plate and constructed with input pump shafts that are fitted with oil-lubricated bearings. Additional design features such as the fitting of oil-lubricated output shaft taper bearings absorb large axial loads that exist when effluent is being macerated. Silicon carbide seals are standard but viton seals are available for more chemically abrasive pumping applications. Special auxiliary lubricating bowls are also a feature of these systems - these ensure a free flow of oil to the seal faces under gravity.

The units are capable of dispersing effluent mix to a maximum rate of 3000 L/min to an 80 m head or at a lesser flow rate to a 117 m head. These units can be coupled to individual operators' power plant applications.
