Hydroflux Hydrothane STP ECSB (External Circulation Sludge Bed) for anaerobic wastewater treatment
The Hydrothane ultrahigh-rate anaerobic process takes organic content within wastewater and generates green energy. The ECSB (External Circulation Sludge Bed) process can typically take 1 kg of chemical oxygen demand and generate up to 0.35 m3 of methane, which can be used as an alternative fuel for boilers or, with sufficient quantities, be converted into electricity.
A common misconception of anaerobic processes is that they require a long hydraulic retention time and a large amount of space is required. With Hydrothane’s vertical design, the tall vertical reactors can treat flows of up to 1 ML/day within a diameter of a few metres.
All odours are controlled, removing the need for odour control systems. No maintenance is required inside the reactor as there are no complex internals or rotating equipment. There is also no corrosion as the over-pressurised design prevents air from getting in.
