Solvent recycling service

Planet Paints is a solvent recycling and paint manufacturing service which is focused on the recycling of solvent from the automotive trade. The business is fully EPA licensed and as such is able to collect the waste product from the panel trade and return it to its depot for recycling.

Through a distillation process the solvent is separated from the residue paint resins. After the recycling process, this solvent is sold back to the trade as Gunwash.

The residual paint resin left over from the distillation process, which is normally disposed of as landfill, or burned in cement kilns, is converted into recycled industrial coatings by Planet Paints. As a result, 95% of the solvent waste is recycled rather than committing this to landfill or burning as a cheap fuel.

The paint solids retrieved during the recycling process are reformulated into quality coatings for application on concrete floors, transport equipment and structural steel.

The recycled paint product range includes: Versacoat two-pack concrete coating (exterior); Maintain two-pack concrete coating (interior); Orbit Primer; Bolide Black; and Bolide Etch Primer.

Versacoat is a two-pack car paint, therefore it can be used on almost anything, however, as it is a recycled paint, colour matching can be an issue.
