The M40.M is a multi-gas monitor designed to provide personal protection in mines and other work environments where hazardous levels of oxygen, methane, carbon monoxide and/or hydrogen sulfide may be present.

Weighing just 243 g, the small, ergonomically designed monitor has a large custom LCD for continuous real-time gas readings and an amber backlight to provide clear display visibility in underground and other low-light conditions. International graphic symbols and a four-button interface provide intuitive instrument setup, operation and calibration, while the M40.M's 5 s 'off' feature prevents unintentional shut-offs.

It is housed in an impact-resistant case to provide durability in harsh environments. The monitor bears an ingress protection rating of IP65 and is resistant to radio-frequency and electromechanical interference.

Features include a continuous loop data logger, peak/hold functions, STEL and TWA readings, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for up to 18 h of continuous runtime. When gas concentrations exceed preset limits, the unit alerts the user with bright visual and 90 dB alarms and activates an internal vibrating alarm for high-noise environments.

Each monitor comes equipped with a charger, nylon carrying case, mobile phone belt clip and calibration cup with tubing.

Optional accessories include a compact parasitic sampling pump that enables remote sampling from up to 15 m away and a calibration station featuring simple, two-button operation for instrument bump testing and calibration.
