The second release of Geoscience Australia’s database and map of waste-related infrastructure is now available.

Landfills, resource recovery sites and transfer stations are covered. The database updates the first release with more than 400 new site listings. Data integrity has also been strengthened with validation of approximately 700 of the lower confidence sites undertaken.

Geoscience Australia has updated the data and mapping with the assistance of industry, local councils and state governments.

The database and map of waste-related infrastructure can be accessed from Geoscience Australia’s website: https://www.ga.gov.au/products/servlet/controller?event=GEOCAT_DETAILS&catno=72592.
