Walk Against Warming
Monday, 22 October, 2007
Walk Against Warming 2007 will be held on Sunday 11 November, two weeks out from the 2007 federal election, and is anticipated to attract hundreds of thousands of people in towns and cities across the country.
The organisers hope to use the event to show leaders across the political spectrum that Australians expect the next federal government to take action against global warming.
They hope the walk will lead to a commitment by the government to reduce greenhouse pollution and attempt to keep global warming below the 2°C, a temperature spike that scientists consider to be the critical threshold.
