Event: The Banksia Awards
When: 19"“20 July 2007
Where: Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour
Individuals, organisations and companies with the vision to pursue environmental leadership are reminded to get their entries in for the environmental awards before the closing date on 8 May 2007.
"By recognising achievement and highlighting environmental issues, the Banksia Awards are ensuring a more sustainable future," said Maree McCaskill, Banksia Environmental Foundation (BEF) chairman.
Public recognition and acknowledgement has helped past winners go from strength to strength. Many have found it easier to motivate their staff and to attract funding and public support after winning one of the categories or other special Banksia Awards.
"Winning the 2006 Origin Energy Gold Banksia Award has made us even more determined to reduce our environmental footprint," said Kan Ito, managing director of Australian Arrow.
"There is an award covering every sector, so all the best environmental initiatives are eligible for entry."
