Minister for the Environment Greg Hunt to open Australian Sustainability Conference
It has been announced the new Minister for the Environment, the Hon Greg Hunt MP, will be opening this year’s Australian Sustainability Conference. The event will be held from 9-10 October at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The opening address is expected to be the minister’s first official public address to the Australian business community. It will provide business leaders with the opportunity to learn more about the government’s Direct Action plan on climate change and how it will link into Australia’s corporate sectors.
It is further expected that Hunt will speak on the role Australian businesses can take in finding solutions for a more inclusive, low-carbon and resource-efficient world; and how technology and innovation will be critical to improving economic growth and employment in Australia.
Australian Sustainability will be co-located with the All-Energy Australia and Waste Expo shows. Australian Sustainability will also host the 25th anniversary of the Banksia Sustainability Awards on the first night of the event.
