Final call for Smart Water applications
Businesses, community groups, research organisations and individuals with sustainable water use projects have until 9 November 2007 to submit applications for Round 5 Smart Water Fund funding.
Smart Water Fund spokesperson, Kate Vinot said $5 million in funding was available for water conservation, water recycling, research and development projects and bio-solids management projects.
“We’re urging people to think creatively about projects that conserve and recycle water in metropolitan Melbourne and regional towns,” Vinot said.
There are two funding streams available for sustainable water use projects:
• Up to $3 million for Victoria-wide urban community and business innovations
• Up to $2 million for research and development into some of the key challenges facing the water industry.
The Victorian Government’s Smart Water Fund is an initiative of Melbourne’s water businesses — City West Water, South East Water, Yarra Valley Water, Melbourne Water — and the Department of Sustainability and Environment.
