Desert Knowledge Australia and Alice Solar City partnership announced

Tuesday, 25 March, 2008

Desert Knowledge Australia and Alice Solar City have announced a strategic partnership to maximise benefits to both parties through cooperation and collaboration.

Alice Solar City will work with and benefit from Desert Knowledge Australia’s $3 million Solar Technology Demonstration Facility (STDF).

Construction of the facility at the Desert Knowledge Precinct will largely be complete by the end of this year and it will be the first site in Australia to publicly showcase such a broad range of large-scale solar installations, with over 15 different installations being constructed.

“The solar facility at the precinct will not only complement and help to interpret other highly visible solar power installations to be installed as part of the Solar Cities program, but will also serve as a place to train students in the use and maintenance of solar installations,” said John Huigen, CEO of Desert Knowledge Australia.

“The STDF will also be a primary point of access for community members, tourists, school groups, businesses and investors, who are interested in looking at Solar Hardware up close.”
