Primary Energy has announced an agreement with BP Australia for the off take of ethanol fuel that will ensure the construction of a $100 million production facility in Perth, Western Australia.

This production facility has the capacity to produce up to 160 million litres of renewable fuel per annum and a greenhouse gas abatement of 400 000 tonnes from the transportation sector.

Construction time is expected to be 18-20 months and it is anticipated that the facility will be online in 2008.

The Perth located Bio-Refinery will be an additional production facility to its "flag-ship' Gunnedah facility in North-Western NSW.
