Carbon offset service

Breathe Easy is a carbon emission offset service which is set to be launched in Australia by Greening Australia.

The company claims it is the only carbon provider that can guarantee a range of multispecies native Australian trees will be planted in an area of environmental sensitivity and importance. This will deliver multiple environmental benefits including the provision of habitat for native species, an improvement in water quality and assist in combating salinity and soil erosion.

Secondly, it claims it will meet or exceed current minimum standards nationally and internationally and, therefore, it is highly likely that Greening Australia's carbon credits will be tradable in all future carbon trading markets. It is already Kyoto compliant, designed to meet the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme and the Australian government's Greenhouse Friendly initiative.

The Breathe Easy program has: a professional and qualified workforce; guaranteed land title security; long-term maintenance regimes; long-term reporting framework; a comprehensive carbon sequestration model; independent third-party auditing of the planting; and accredited administrative mechanisms underlying the sale of carbon.
