Solar 2013 event update
Solar 2013 will be held from 23-24 May 2013 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, with over 2000 delegates expected to attend. The free event will feature three concurrent conference streams as well as an extensive industry exhibition with over 100 exhibitors.
The Solar 2013 Conference will provide the latest information on the solar, renewable energy and energy-efficiency industries. It will host a continuous stream of presentations from industry experts covering diverse topics: from current policy and market analysis to financing of industry projects and industry case studies and best practice.
Industry and Policy Stream
The opening plenary session kicks off with keynote addresses from the major parties in this election year, followed by industry keynote presentations from the chief executives of platinum sponsors Solar Inception and Hareon Solar.
Day one morning presentations include an ARENA update and talk on analysing certificate prices and outlook with Ric Brazzale, Managing Director, Green Energy Trading. The afternoon discussion will cover global trends in solar and solar thermal.
The day two plenary session includes presentations by the Clean Energy Regulator and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, followed by a Solar Policy Review 2013 with Wayne Smith, Chief Executive, Clean Economy Services. The afternoon sessions will focus on energy efficiency.
Professional Development Stream
The organisers are working with the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) to deliver a retailer and solar installer/designer program and forum.
The Professional Development session on day one will begin by spending the morning focusing on current industry issues, then moving onto an open forum. Afternoon presentations will focus on the nitty gritty of warranty and liability, performance statements and system financing options.
Day two presentations will open with Australian Solar Council presenting on best practice and design case studies, and then move to battery back-up, data logging, audit reports and network penetration issues.
The Solar 2013 Exhibition provides the opportunity to network directly with policymakers, industry players, experts and consumers. Recently confirmed exhibitors include the Clean Energy Regulator, Canadian Solar, Regen Power, Choose Solar and more.
The Solar 2013 exhibitors list and floor plan will be available soon at www.solarexhibition.com.au. The conference program can be viewed here and registration can be completed here.
