New appointments at Parsons Brinckerhoff ANZ
Consulting firm Parsons Brinckerhoff has appointed Dean Toomey as General Manager Water and Andrew Schroth as Regional Director, Western Australia.
Toomey has a long history with Parsons Brinckerhoff, having commenced working in its Brisbane office in 1994. Most recently he has acted as the company’s alliance leadership group (ALG) member for the Logan Water Alliance and the Mackay Infrastructure Alliance; and spearheaded regional business development activities and acted as the key interface with several Queensland-based utilities.
“Dean is no stranger to leadership and has extensive experience leading complex projects that require the mobilisation of large, multidisciplinary project teams,” said Parsons Brinckerhoff Director Resources and Utilities, Government and Power, Mark Dimmock.
“In addition, he has played a key role in formulating a comprehensive strategy for the water business that leverages the strength of our group and is committed to its successful implementation to cement our position as a leader in the ANZ water market.”
The appointment is a critical one, said Dimmock, with the firm currently diversifying to leverage Balfour Beatty capability across Asset Intelligence Solutions (AIS) technology to optimise operations efficiency and capital maintenance programs.
Toomey said it is “a challenging and exciting time to be helping to shape the water team and to work closely with the wider group to offer our combined expertise to clients and to the water utilities market”.
Schroth commenced working for Parsons Brinckerhoff in 2013 has recent experience as Infrastructure Delivery Director on Roy Hill, with PMC delivery responsibility for full infrastructure activity across design, procurement and construction civil works, services and non-process infrastructure.
Guy Templeton, Parsons Brinckerhoff President and Chief Operating Officer Asia-Pacific, said Schroth will now be responsible for positioning the business for future growth in WA.
“Andrew displays an ability to identify needs, to build capability and empower teams; all prerequisites for regional growth and local business sustainability,” he said.
Schroth said he welcomes the opportunities presented by his new role and looks forward to “continuing to work to strengthen our footprint in Western Australia through leveraging the considerable capabilities of the WA team”.
“I will, over the course of the next number of months, conduct meetings with clients and stakeholders and work with them to develop and deliver solutions that respond to the needs of this particular marketplace,” he concluded
