Hybrid motorcycle to optimise energy use
Schneider Electric will partner with custom motorcycle manufacturer Orange County Choppers (OCC) in the US to design and build a hybrid motorcycle that demonstrates its energy solutions.
Schneider Electric US President Amelia Huntington said: “Schneider Electric is challenging Orange County Choppers to build a custom motorcycle that will support our company mission of helping people make the most of their energy. This hybrid motorcycle will employ a built-in intelligent energy management system that will allow it to be more efficient and productive by considering multiple variables to select the best energy source available.”
OCC says the goal is that the hybrid chopper will be capable of travelling further, without refuelling or recharging, than any other OCC bike. Schneider Electric employs the same energy management methodology to help its users do more while using less energy in, for example, buildings, data centres, industry and residential markets.
