SAI Global Limited is inviting applications for the 20th Annual Australian Business Excellence Awards, as well as its Systems Excellence Awards.

The awards recognise organisational quality with applicants independently assessed against business principles and criteria.

Inherent in business excellence is sustaining performance, underlining the relevance of the theme to this year’s awards, ‘Sustainable Excellence’.

“Research has demonstrated that Business Excellence Award-winning organisations on average outperform the Australian All Ordinaries index,” said Tony Scotton, SAI Global CEO.

“The unique component of our assessment process is the 100-odd expert business professionals who act as evaluators. They use the Business Excellence Framework, a universal set of criteria which can measure any organisation’s level of excellence.”

The Systems Excellence Awards were also launched. They recognise specific best-practice management systems.

Four new types of categories have been added to the Systems Awards this year: Information Security Management; Food Safety Management; Ethics; and Sustainable Development.

SAI Global is anticipating even more applicants than last year given the criteria for the awards have been revised to reflect the increased focus on sustainability within management and government alike.

Applications close on 18 April 2008. The winners will be announced at the 2008 Australian Business Excellence Awards and Better Business Conference 9–10 July.
