Imark SR and SRX MPPT Solar Regulators

Imark Communications has released the SR and SRX family of MPPT Solar Regulators for remote off-grid solar power installations wherever it is necessary to operate DC equipment and the only source of power is solar.

The solar regulators utilise maximum power point tracking (MPPT) to provide greater than 95% conversion efficiency and multiphase PWM switching (on 40 and 60 A models) to minimise EMC interference to within CISPR11 specifications. Charging algorithms can be set and provide bulk, absorption, equalise and float charging modes for proper battery maintenance. Battery temperature sensor and adjustable battery temperature compensation is included.

All regulators use custom extruded aluminium housing to enhance cooling and keep the size compact, enabling easy installation at locations where space is limited. Heatsink fins are constructed such that there are no sharp edges that may cause injury.

The solar regulators are available with 20, 40 and 60 A ratings and automatically select the appropriate battery voltage (12, 24 or 48 V). Voltage, current and temperature protection, as well as battery charging temperature compensation, are all included. Up to eight regulators can be integrated to form one larger system.

Six LEDs are included on the entry-level SR solar regulators to indicate operating status. The SRX models include the LEDs as well as a 4 x 20 alphanumeric LCD screen and six keys enabling easy monitoring of system performance or for programming operating parameters. Internet capability is standard on SRX models, enabling site monitoring, setting changes and data downloading from anywhere using a web browser and the included Imark Site Explorer software.

The solar regulators include mounting brackets with ‘keyholes’ that allow easy installation in awkward locations. All external interfacing plugs and sockets are conveniently located at the bottom of the regulators, allowing prewiring of connectors and making installation easier. 3RU rack-mounting versions, a remote LCD display and a redundancy kit are available.
