Yingli Green Energy, the vertically integrated PV module manufacturer known as Yingli Solar, has appointed Christian Bindel to the newly created role of technical manager for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Bindel will be responsible for managing all aspects of Yingli Solar’s technical product support, warranty, product maintenance and engineering standards in the Oceania region, which has seen strong growth leading to the creation of the Technical Manager role.

Bindel brings 15 years of experience to Yingli, having previously worked for Phoenix Solar in Germany before moving to Australia to take on the role as Managing Director. In addition he has held prominent roles with local companies Origin Energy, First Solar and Mark Group.

Daman Cole, managing director of Yingli Green Energy Australia, said the company is “delighted to start the new year with a new technical manager”.

Yingli Solar officially launched its presence in Australia with the opening of its Sydney office in 2013. Cole said the hiring of Bindel is “further evidence of Yingli Solar’s continued investment in the region”.
