Natural Solar predicts SA battery boom of 300%
The South Australian battery market is set to boom exponentially, following the announcement of the residential battery power rebate as well as the first sonnenBatterie manufacturing plant to be located in the state.
That’s according to Australian battery installer Natural Solar, which projects growth of 200–300% in South Australia alone within 12 months of the rebates taking effect in the market.
“Customers are already driven by the attractive pricing model, independence from the grid and stability that a solar and battery solution can provide,” said Chris Williams, CEO and founder of Natural Solar. “This rebate will mean that South Australian residents, who crave this reliability the most, will no longer need to pay any money upfront to have their solar and battery solution installed and will reap the benefits of savings from day one. It’s the benefits of battery power up to $10,000 with no interest charged for the first seven years to purchase solar panels and solar batteries.
“Much like the solar boom that took place from 2009–2012, this will be the move that will bring battery power into the mainstream market and make this form of technology available to the masses. It is truly an exciting day for residents of South Australia and will encourage other states and territories around the country to sit up and take notice.
“With an unprecedented volume of residential and commercial solar and battery enquiries following this momentous announcement, there is no doubt these newly announced rebates will influence the decisions of many home owners to move toward the growing trend of battery power.”
Williams added that it was exciting to see sonnen, a partner of Natural Solar, set to manufacture its batteries on (South) Australian soil for the first time. He noted that South Australia is one of Natural Solar’s most dominant markets, due to ongoing discussions about grid instability and battery power, with customers “clamouring for residential options that will not only encourage savings, but also offer much needed security and stability”.
“It’s hugely exciting to see sonnen on the ground in Adelaide and expected to commence manufacture of their batteries during 2018,” he said.
