Guide to help businesses install solar power

Thursday, 19 September, 2013

At an industry event hosted by the Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI) today, the Clean Energy Council (CEC) released its ‘Guide to installing solar PV for business and industry’.

VECCI Chief Executive Mark Stone noted, “Understanding complex business solutions such as installing solar energy can be difficult for many businesses.” The guide will give a helpful outline of “the business case for solar, the challenges and potential barriers, plus how it may improve your bottom line”.

It will also provide the process for solar system design and installation, and how to get information on planning regulations, incentives and finance.

“Solar power represents a great opportunity, and some solar companies are already offering innovative financial products to help businesses make the most of that opportunity,” said Stone.

He added that VECCI’s partnership with CEC is “a natural fit - the CEC understands the technical aspects of solar, whilst we bring an understanding of what’s important to business”.

CEC Chief Executive David Green said businesses have been slower than households to install solar power systems, but with the release of the guide, “we’re hoping to change that”.

The guide is applicable to businesses all around Australia, not just Victoria. It can be downloaded from www.solaraccreditation.com.au/consumers/business-and-industry-guide-to-installing-solar-pv.html.
