Enphase provides power to entertainment centre and EnergyAustralia

Enphase Energy microinverters are powering the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and are also now available for EnergyAustralia customers.

The company has completed the largest microinverter installation in South Australia, utilising M215 Microinverters for a 100 kW rooftop solar photovoltaic system at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. The centre, which has a capacity of 12,000 people, wanted to use solar power as a way to minimise its electricity bill and carbon footprint.

Enphase worked closely with its installation partner, Absolute Solar & Electrical, to design a system with maximum production capabilities. Matt Teague, director of operations at Absolute Solar & Electrical, admitted that the size of the centre seemed “daunting for the installation of a solar system”, but said the company was “able to fit all the panels on one roof with the support and advice of Enphase”.

“It was critical for us to have everything planned and executed with precision for this installation,” Teague added. “Not only was it a government contract, we had to look for ways to minimise disruption to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre’s operations as well.”

The system will now provide power for a significant portion of the venue’s requirements. Nathan Dunn, Asia-Pacific managing director of Enphase Energy, said the solar energy system will “power the Adelaide Entertainment Centre for many years to come”.

Enphase has separately announced a partnership agreement to provide its microinverter solar PV system to EnergyAustralia’s customers. Enphase is exclusively featured as the only microinverter and monitoring platform in EnergyAustralia’s Next Generation Solar product suite.

“The Enphase system provides customers with a simple, reliable and safe solar solution,” said Gavin Lewis, product and sales manager, EnergyAustralia. “It is extremely flexible and designed to increase the energy generation for each roof, thereby maximising savings on the customer’s energy bill.

“Its ability to deliver superior performance even in low light conditions means we can now offer a quality product to customers with partly shaded rooftops, who may have previously been told their homes were not suitable for solar.”

The Enphase Microinverter System is available through EnergyAustralia as either an upfront purchase or with an interest-free payment plan. To find out more, call EnergyAustralia’s Home Services team on 133 349.
