Electric bus sets a new world record
Brighsun EV Group has set a new world record for the greatest distance covered by an electric bus on a single charge, just two weeks after the launch of the company’s electric vehicle (EV) propulsion system technology in Melbourne.
The world record attempt commenced at 10 pm on 14 November and finished just before midnight on 15 November in the presence of Guinness World Record Adjudicator Seyda Subasi Gemici. Carried out on the South Gippsland Highway between Tooradin and Lang Lang, Victoria, the attempt saw the electric bus travel 1018 km.
“What it means is that commercial buses can now travel for the whole day or interstate without the worry of having to find somewhere to recharge the batteries,” said Brighsun Communications Director Gladys Liu. “We believe it will bring a whole new concept of public transport with no pollution to Australia and to the world.”
Brighsun’s vehicle range extends to commercial passenger and goods vehicle products operating intracity and interregional country Victorian services. The company’s technology is said to offer numerous benefits to government, operators and key stakeholders interested in sustainable energy resources.
“Brighsun will continue to work on this technology and would like to invite anyone out there who would be able to break our record to do so to help make the world a cleaner place to live,” said Liu.
