Aged care facility inspired by SolarMax
SolarMax has announced the installation of its grid-connected solar inverters at Yass Valley Aged Care (YVAC), a regional NSW aged care facility, through its installation partner, Ygrene Energy. The YVAC board was inspired to invest in SolarMax after witnessing a similar installation by the company at the Yass Soldiers’ Club.
“Yass Valley Aged Care has faced increasing energy costs over the last two years and the board wanted to implement a financially viable energy solution that would help reduce our overall energy cost,” said Rowena Abbey, Mayor of Yass and a board member of YVAC. “The benefits and the cost savings the Yass Soldiers Club was able to achieve were a driving factor in our decision to appoint Ygrene Energy and use SolarMax inverters.”
Using funds donated by the local community and the Yass Aged Care Foundation, the board invested in a solar PV system that would assist with future capital expenditures and meet energy requirements. SolarMax provided six 15 kW 15MT2 grid-connected inverters and one 10 kW 10MT2 inverter for YVAC’s solar PV system.
The completed 100 kW solar PV system is expected to generate an average of over 448 kWh of solar power daily and will reduce the energy bills for YVAC by over $52,000 each year. YVAC will also reduce its reliance on drawing electricity from the grid and the installation will reduce its carbon emissions by 150 tonnes annually.
SolarMax’s MT series inverters are easy to install and designed to last. With a maximum efficiency of up to 98%, the inverters are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. They satisfy the safety requirements stated in AS/NZS 5033:2012 standards (IEC 62109-1/-2), as well as the AS 4777.2 and AS 4777.3 standards, and are accredited by the Clean Energy Council (CEC).
“Having developed a proven track record as a solar installer, we are proud of the solar PV system we developed for the Yass Valley Aged Care facility,” said Timothy Davaris, owner and CEO of Ygrene Energy. “The installation was completed with no disruptions and on time. Without a doubt, this installation will deliver significant cost savings and be environmentally sustainable.”
