Evoqua enjoys Singapore International Water Week
Evoqua Water Technologies attended Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) this week. As well as exhibiting its electrochemical desalination technology and other water treatment technologies for municipal, industrial and marine applications, the company partook in several activities.
At the SIWW Desalination and Water Reuse Business Forum, Evoqua signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore’s national water agency, PUB. The two organisations have agreed to further develop electrochemical desalination technology that aims to improve energy and cost efficiencies in seawater desalination.
Meanwhile, Evoqua client Orange County Water District (OCWD) received the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize for its groundwater replenishment system (GWRS), which takes secondary treated wastewater formerly discharged into the ocean to replenish the local aquifer and protect groundwater from seawater intrusion. The OCWD is expanding its use of Evoqua MEMCOR CS membrane modules to eliminate suspended solids, bacteria and other harmful contaminants from the feed stream to deliver high-quality effluent to the GWRS reverse osmosis system.
Finally, Evoqua water and wastewater technical experts took part in the oral sessions, presenting ‘Commercialization of Low-Energy Electrodialysis for Seawater Desalination’, ‘Innovative Use of Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) as Biosorption-Based Primary Treatments to Achieve Neutrality in Wastewater Treatment Plants’ and ‘Innovative Iron Reactive Treatment for Removal of Metals and Metalloids from Water and Wastewater’.
