Visy recognised with 2010 Australian Business Award for Environmental Sustainability
Visy has received the 2010 Australian Business Award for Environmental Sustainability for the extension and upgrade of its pulp and recycled paper mill at Tumut.
Completed earlier this year, the mill is said to be recognised as one of the world’s most environmentally sustainable. Visy’s commitment to consulting with environmental and community groups and the Tumut mill’s sustainability features were highlighted in its award entry.
The Australian Business Awards honour organisations that demonstrate the core values of business excellence, product excellence, sustainability and commercial success in their respective industries.
The awards, which are open to all Australian companies and organisations, attracted 1849 separate entries from 962 organisations this year.
